Happy Sunday, Journeyer!

Well, what can I say other than this past week has been pretty much dictated by my workplace crap. I’ve spent countless hours in meetings and documenting everything that has been transpiring at warp speed.

The good news, as I pointed out in last week’s post is that I am beginning to digest the fact that I’m not held hostage there and that I have several options.

For now, I want justice for all of the people who have been wronged and all those who are unknowingly being hurt.

That’s not too much to ask for, is it? {chuckles}

So, how does one stave off anger and fear?

With a dashes of inspiration, like this Youlivebytoday.com Instagram image that came across my feed.

And by feeding our happy organ with everything we’ve got in between those unpleasant moments.

Here are a few of the little things that kept me going and captured my happy.

An afternoon cloud formation so perfectly formed it feels as if you are part of an iconic landscape painting.

Clouds so perfect they don't look real

The sound and sight of baby chicks!

Imagine the delight on some lucky child’s face when she finds this adorable and cuddly ducky in her Easter basket! I almost brought one home for myself!

Warren and I continue to grow individually and collectively. A strong marriage makes me super happy!

We were actually able to spend some time in the spa a few nights this week. There’s nothing like soaking in the warm jets while surrounded by a night sky and crisp air.

I enjoyed having Big Guy home for a week and especially loved having his buddies over. Their smiles, warm hug greetings, and appreciation for my cooking is just plain joyous.

Speaking of my youngest, we celebrated his nineteenth birthday this past week! Watching our children rise above challenge, love their neighbors, and grow into fine young men and women is definitely happy making, isn’t it Journeyer?

We also had the good fortune of spending a few hours with Beauty and her new Beau, a delightful, funny young chap who is quick with kindness and appreciation.

Following a few rounds of eight ball and a short visit from the sofas, we headed out to the theater to see the new Allegiant movie. If you ask me, the second in the series was as good as the first!

Today we spent a few hours emptying, cleaning, and refilling the hot tub, getting it ready for another six months of comfort and joy.

Yesterday I spent several hours prepping filling for dog chew bones and cutting up treats to use when our gal is anxious and for our upcoming training sessions.

For the next six weeks, Warren and I will be having a Dinner and Doggie Date Night. Since the doggie daycare and the Petco where we’re going for the dog obedience classes are thirty minutes away, we’re going to meet for a meal, pick up our pooch, and then attend the classes.

It might not be the romanticized version of date night, but it is one that will hopefully help us spend more quality time with our pup and less time trying to calm her down.

Cutting up several pounds of hot dogs and meatballs might not sound like fun, but all I could think about while I was chopping, dicing, and slicing was how ahead of the game I was going to be! A freezer full of filled marrow bones and baggies of rewards for positive behavior means I won’t be scrambling when I need something to soothe my anxious pup.

A fine example are the Viola flowers I planted in my garden several years ago. It looks like this year’s crop is off to an early start with the seventy degree days we had early last week. Several of these posies popped up to meet me every day I arrived home from work.

  1. Praying that this week is a better week for you, my friend. Thanks for taking the time to share the little joys that we should all be mindful of each day:)

    1. Thank you, Neighbor Cheryl! May you see some of those little joys that jump onto your path this week and may they bring a smile to your face, warmth to your heart, or some peace of mind. 🙂 Thanks for reading and sharing!

  2. Oh Annah…I hope this recent snow hasn’t hit you – if you’ve already got flowers already. Dog training and a dinner sounds like much fun. I’m waiting for the warmer days when we can take our (no longer a) pup for long walks (Hubs does all the walks when it’s cold…)

    1. I woke to flurries yesterday and within hours we had two-plus inches on the ground. :/
Alas, it is spring, so the fluctuating temps and precipitations are to be expected, n’est pas?

      Have you had snow, too?
