Christmastime Magic

It’s my favorite time of year, Journeyers.

And for the first time ever I got to spend a little bit of it in one of my most favorite places: New York City.

I spent one glorious, snowy, and blustery Saturday with four fabulous women and one incredibly delightful fifth grader.

There were so many magical moments that fed my happy this past week!

Here are a few highlights.

Monday morning began with a private Phoenix Rising yoga session, where I not only discovered and dealt with some longstanding angst, I tapped into a channel of core energy that runs from my head to my toes…

Let me just say that that was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had…

And then, after telling the woman about my work with The Five Facets, she not only told me about a documentary that she had just participated in, she told the filmmakers about my model for healing.

We’re in the early stages of talking, but they’ve asked me if I’ll consider being a part of the film!

As if all that positive energy weren’t enough for one morning, I received the seventh in the Soon-to-be-50 card series my mom’s been sending me.

Warren, a big kid at heart, also loves telling jokes and making people laugh. Every year I purchase season Comedy Club tickets as gifts for him.

Not only does it mean I’m not bringing unneeded stuff into our home, it makes him happy AND it is something he and I can do together.

Now that’s a winning combination if I’ve ever seen one!
Monday night’s event was one of the most stellar out of the four years we’ve been attending, with the second comedian being one of the funniest we’ve seen to-date!
And then, though we had to drive two hours from home and return in the wee hours of the morning, we were glad that Fave made it safely home, despite a major upset for the airlines when a storm struck the southern and central states.
Though I believe that home is wherever we are, I’m so happy to have my children here in the flesh for Christmas…

Here we are, minus Big Guy, who had a school commitment, after a delicious Tuesday dinner out.

Thank goodness the next few days were a bit quieter as I don’t think my heart could have withstood much more!

Plus, I needed to save up as much energy as possible for my trip to NYC!

Here we are on arrival to Bryant Park.

and in Rockefeller Center…

…where we just happened to witness this proposal take place!
Congratulations, John & Melissa and a BIG thank you for allowing me to include your special event in this Happy Happens column!

She said “Yes!”
I loved seeing the fun, decked out display windows and the lights that twinkled almost as brightly as Melissa’s engagement ring.

Shortly after we left here, our friend guide announced that we were walking past the birth place of Theodore Roosevelt…
…which made me think of one of my favorite quotes, attributed to the former First Lady, Eleanor Roosevelt: “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
This sidewalk Christmas tree lot reminded me of Hallmark’s heartwarming Christmas movie, Fir Crazy.
Our fifth gal lives in the city and took us to some unique and fun places I’ve not visited on any of my previous trips.
Including a fabulous meal at Gramercy Tavern…

This amazing little cheese shop…

…and I’m thrilled to have found another fabulous bakery since Roxy’s closed…

…these giant cookies are bigger than my hand…

…and this peanut butter chocolate cheesecake is purely divine…

I spotted this sparkly sign and a bunch of imitation Santas as we strolled through Greenwich Village…

As I took the above photo, my friends talked this guy into posing with me!

Signs like this popcorn advertisement filled the subway walls, describing the day we had to a “T.”
Even at the end of this long, full day, these five smiles reflect the joy we shared and the fun we had together…

And then, to cap off the week, a little family fun, sledding behind our four-wheeler…

What about you? What Moment(s) fed your happy this week? Share them here and spread a little joy!

Have a great week, Journeyer! During this busy time of year, be sure to pause and embrace as many of those simple events that make you smile for feel all warm and fuzzy inside…
