It’s Random…Joy

A week of simple pleasures…

This pair of boots packs a double smile! One because they are warm and uber comfy…
And two because they were a gift from Beauty, who rescued them from a college roommate who was going to discard the never worn footwear!
I will forever be both curious about and in awe of life’s simple brilliance…This…this ice sculpture built around this spindly stalk…isn’t it magnificent?

This puzzle provided several fond hours of mother-son bonding…

Finally! After weeks of being stuck on level 191…FINALLY!
I love setting out small items that represent the different seasons and holidays…colored or themed dish towels and napkins…
I was so excited when I opened the vanity drawer and spotted this forgotten Valentine’s soap!

And to cap off the week, what better way to celebrate the release of your book than being treated to lunch by a girlfriend?

Red Lobster popcorn shrimp and fresh broccoli for me and stuffed flounder for her…

My failure to take a photo is your chance to tap into all of your senses and imagine…especially those mouthwatering biscuits…

The most comforting feeling of the week came in the form of a new microwave.

The turntable quit working over a year ago and a few months ago we had a problem where the door wouldn’t shut.

Handyman that Hubby is, he tore it apart, adjusted the plunger or some what-not part and Voila! latching door.

But a few days later, the unit began turning on when we opened said cover. Ummmm, yeah…

Warren thought it was just the fan, but he couldn’t be sure.

I couldn’t help but wonder if I was nuking parts of my already scrambled brain, every time I went to put something inside.

We really don’t have the funds to be buying appliances right now, but a clear and un-radiated brain is definitely worth splurging for…I know you’d agree!

Thanks to Whirlpool and Lowes and this reasonably priced product, I don’t have to worry any more.

So now I have a shiny and fully functioning kitchen helper that I’m not sure how I’d function without…

How about you, Journeyer? What Moment(s) made you smile or feel all warm and fuzzy this week? Honor your Happy here!

  1. Sledding down a tiny little hill in just a little snow with two little girls who thought it was the most exciting thing in the world! Walking with two dogs who haven’t seen me out of the house enough this winter and were falling all over me to let me know how happy they were. Watching sourdough bread rise for the third time this week and finally getting the mix of starter, sugar and salt perfect for flavor.Eating a doughnut with my oldest little person after her doctor’s appointment. Helping the middle one do a handstand against the wall, while I was also doing a handstand on one arm beside her. Two deer hams gifted by a total stranger. Finding that I was able to sing and worship in church again without crying and feeling angry at God. Dancing at Zumba.

  2. Your Happy overfloweth in that comment, Angela… Even in the midst of grief and recovery… Thank you for being here, for reading, and sharing, and for your courage to heal your heart…

The images you describe are so vivid…I could hear the excited giggles and those pups bumping into me and the exhileration of fresh air…and I must say my mouth was drooling for a taste of that homemeade bread! Thank you neighbor, for sharing your own gifts and the music of your last week…

I look forward to reading your next stories of random joy…

    Yours in healing,
    ~AE
