The Space Between Luck and Misfortune

Well, fellow Journeyers, I’ve done it!

After more hours than I wish to recognize, I have finally pieced together my first video.

The idea came to me when I discovered Washington, DC’s TEDxWomen and their theme for this year’s conference.

The Space Between…

I immediately thought of my piece Finding Four-Leaf-Clover-Kind-of-Luck in Shit.

And The Space Between Luck and Misfortunewas born…

Here are a few things I learned along the way:

Staring into a microscopic camera lens is nothing like making eye contact with a real person.

The crazy eye wandering is nothing but me looking for you…

I need my hands!

Warren has joked for years that I can’t talk without my hands.

From time to time, when I am telling a story with a little bit of exuberant gesturing, he’ll take my hands in his and say, “Now try to talk.”

The sad truth is that I can’t! At least not very well.

After seeing how many times I stumbled over my words, I find I need to work on being able to speak without gesturing, or stick to speaking in front of a group of people…

I’m afraid that you’ll even see me reference not being able to use my hands in one of the clips…

I tried to edit it out, but couldn’t figure how and was afraid I’d end up deleting the entire thing, so I left it in.

Nothing like a little bit of humor to help color an otherwise gloomy section.

Video creation is much harder than it looks!

I swear it was like a marathon workout. Sweat and all.

Or maybe those were hot flashes returning…

If this site keeps expanding I just might need to go back to school to learn a few easier tricks of the trade

Or hire someone who knows what the heck they are doing…

So, without further adieu, here’s the link to my first video.

What fills the space between your own luck and misfortune?

Soon…

  1. Annah, I really enjoy your dry delivery when you’re telling the humorous parts of your talk. So glad you have success finding the luck amongst the shit. I haven’t found a four leaf clover in years, let alone a five leaf clover. Of course, I don’t bother to look. When I’m on poopie patrol, I’m totally focused on the shit.

May luck always be with you, my friend. 🙂

  2. Keep your eyes peeled, for luck is often found in the unlikeliest of places…but only if your mind and eyes are open to its presence…

May luck always be with you, also. 🙂

    Soon…
